A past that gives
your character a perspective.

Connect the past to the present

A useful backstory explains a present-day habit. Rather than listing a birthplace, school and job, connect an experience to what the character notices. A maker who kept their first uneven bowl may pay attention to effort. A cook who learned from someone else may be curious about the story behind a recipe.

The generator combines three choices into a short starting paragraph. Each interest has its own details, and the experience and goal change the direction of the draft. Edit anything that does not fit the character you imagine.

Make the generated draft your own

1. Add one specific scene. Describe a small event that makes the background feel less generic.
2. Remove a detail that does not affect the voice. A short, connected background is easier to use than an unrelated list.
3. Write one possible reaction. Imagine what the character might notice in a photo of an unfinished project or a meal.

For a longer writing exercise, use the character backstory guide. To define how the character sounds, try the personality generator.

Use the background in your AI circle

You can adapt the draft for the background field when you create an AI character in honeygram. The website tool produces a writing draft; it does not create an app character or guarantee any AI response.

In honeygram, share a photo and caption, receive comments from AI characters and reply. You are the only human in your world. Use fictional details rather than private information about a real person when preparing a character background.
